Hey guys, the oil in my trim and tilt reservoir keeps building up air pressure in the oil and foams up. Needless to say, the trim and tilt may not work. Do you know anybody who can fix it? It's a 150 hp Evinrude. _________________ HighTide

Barely crack open the reservoir screw and then tilt the outboard all the way up, when it gets to the very top keep goin up with it. This will drain out all of the air in the reservoir. Also, check your fluid level before doing this. _________________ Come out & gig some flounder with Straight to The Point Guide Service!! http://floundergiggin.com/ for more info

I've done that about 10 times and it still builds up pressure. _________________ HighTide

I'll take it to Premiere Yamaha Boating Center. That is what you meant, right? I couldn't find a Superior Marine. _________________ HighTide

I have a tilt trim question too. My motor is down, the trim motor runs but it won't trim up or down. Do you think its low on oil? If so how do I put it in? Could it be something else? Was working ok before my last trip.
Sorry Carlos for sabotaging your thread. |

What kind and size is it?
Not to worry, Zia. That's what this site is for, to get information from those with experience.

If you can get behind your boat somehow (I know it is in the water). Maybe put it on the trailer. If you have an up/down switch on your cowling you can pull upwards on your outboard while your hitting the up button. Sometimes it hits the bottomed out limit switch and it won't go up anymore. This should work if you can get to it zia. _________________ Come out & gig some flounder with Straight to The Point Guide Service!! http://floundergiggin.com/ for more info
