Coming back from Houston on Thursday 10/8 and about a mile north of Copano Creek on US 77, north of Refugio, half in the grass and half on the shoulder, was an alligator, at least 5' long. I assume it was dead because he wasn't up on his feet, they were splayed out next to to him.
I used to live in East Texas and have seen many alligators from the road, but I didn't expect a dead one outside of Refugio, on 77. |

A buddy had one in his tank outside of Karnes City. Best he thought is it must have come up the San Antonio river.
