Anyone have any reports on the ULM? Heading down tonight for the weekend, cant decide to go north of the bridge or South.
Really wanting to hit the bay and fish the structures.
How is the water clarity?
I'm only a month away from becoming an islander also. Looking forward to running into you folks on a more permanent basis! |

Monday 8/24 - Bird Island area ... slow, managed a handful of trout west of the ICW approaching Emmord's Hole. More floating grass on that side though. Water clarity ... I'd give it about a 6.5 out of 10.
Tuesday 8/25 - Bird Island area ... super calm, super hot, managed just 1 trout. Found a school of reds in the same area west of ICW, with one following my topwater, followed by another one hooked up but broke loose (and bent a topwater hook in the process). More floating grass than Monday.
Wednesday 8/26 - north of JFK ... better results, better water clarity. Couple of reds, couple of barely legal flounder, done by 9am.
Tailing drum are pretty easy to find early until about sunrise at the latest, both north and south of the JFK.
Good luck!

You went the wrong way for trout Tommy. Was on em this morning going south from bird until the north wind came through. _________________
