Better late than never. Since the surf was blown out I decided to stick with what I know and bay fish. Got to fish after work Friday on a submerged spoil near humble flats and caught a decent limit of trout. Just enough for a fish fry for my Dad on Father's Day. I was throwing a cocahoe minnow and I usually don't work it too fast to keep the skippies at bay but the trout wouldn't take it any other way. Fast and erratic produced that day. I must have caught at least 15 keeper trout and three reds right at the 20 mark on my rod but too close to call. So they were released.

Good catch! Looks like a flyfishing landing net there.

Thanks Zia, my buddy made that net for me and its the same concept as a flyfishing net but much larger scale for saltwater. He does awesome work and the nets he makes are works of art. They are a little longer than the normal wading nets and glide through the water when netting fish. The longer handle gives you a further reach and makes it netting fish a little easier. I must say I wish I would have got one earlier.

And you can never go wrong with cocahoes Tyler! Especially for the price. I first bought some for $1.49 when funds were tight and we were on Furlough. Caught so many fish on them I never looked back!
