[My only question is if Luke is worried about his Boss finding out about his time on Corpusfishing.com, what do you think they will say when they find out he is spending valuable time on the 'South China Morning Post'!!! |

Looks like a piece off an artificial reef...sometimes they come loose and break apart before washing up on the beach.

It looks to me like it would be "floatation" off of a riser column used on deepwater drilling rigs. It adds buoyancy to your riser column and B.O.P. while subsea. I don't know how to insert a picture but if you google image search riser floatation you will see what I'm talking about.

They are oil rig seeds. I'm sure of it. _________________ "Charlie Don't Surf" |

Otherwise known as "syntactic foam"(sp?) used in deep sea buoys and floatation devices as earlier mentioned. Good Chinese product. _________________ Mike |

Did some more poking around about this "foam" material, and the pieces that washed ashore in Alabama that led to the pictures and articles that BUTCHER pointed me to were positively identified as coming off the Deepwater Horizon blowout! Not saying that the ones here are the same, but just like the Chinese refrigerator I found around Fish Pass (and wondering if it came from the big tsunami around Japan), how cool would it be to know that 'on my shelf is a piece of the Deepwater Horizon accident'!!! |
