Hit the rec road at sunrise. Some bait in the water. Fresh weed too. Had a great first cut. Lots of topwater blow-ups, but no hook-ups. Late morning I put out a small whiting and a pin fish on the backside of 2nd bar.
As I was still fishing the wade, the line with the whiting got spooled. It had 3 raps left when I got to it. 300 yards of line gone. The other one, had a 40# ray on it. Took a while but managed it. I put out another pin, and I was spooled again. WTF? Seriously, the blue water was close, and I think the kings may have been in.

When something like that happens your just left wondering , what was it? And how BIG was it? Mystery, but it's kind of fun all the options that go through your mind..
