| This was a ruling on all federal parks, not just PINS. |

I think PINS should be an exception to that law. Those boys do some good work protecting our borders. _________________ It's not the destination, the journey is everything. |

| The DOD gets a pass. They can fly thier drones any where they please. My understanding is that is who is flying them for border protection. |

| I have to assume that means WE can't fly a drone there. The feds own whatever they want to own, and I can't imagine the parks people having the ability to deny the military drones access. This is about right; private drones are getting affordable and can produce some incredible videos. Can we fly them during the next government shutdown? |

That's kind of what I had in mind. I would love to get a drone that could hover over the kayaks while we're catching fish, especially when the water is nice and clear. |

Something that I haven't seen here is the total lack of any real law being passed. That's the job of congress. It's totally legal to fly model airplanes just about anywhere, so why in tarnation should it be illegal to fly one with a video camera?
Cripes y'all, i've had way more than my fill of government intrusion into our lives, and this is just the latest step! After 911, Bush said something to the effect that we couldn't and shouldn't let this change the way we live. Then came the airport Gestapo strip searching and fondling folks in the name of "security"! It's only gotten worse since.
I can see municipalities passing no drone ordinances just to keep peeping Tom's from going airborne on what their neighbors are doing behind the fence, but NOT over publicly owned land!!!! _________________ Dave

Seems to me with the drugs and illegals running the island drones aren't a bad thing to have out there. _________________ JJ |

Ahhh......... Maybe you hit the nail on the head: maybe the feds don't want any more and better proof of how bad border enforcement really is! _________________ Dave
