So with the lack of being able to fish the surf, I took the chance to build my wife a rod that matches her purple AVET. It's only my 3rd rod to build but I think I am progressing nicely, finding new things and techniques to try. here is the final product.
She liked it so much that she went out and bought another reel for me to match up with a rod.
Cant wait to start the next one!!!!

That's a 9 foot gator. 20 to 50 pound line class.
Actually she saved up her pennies from doing photoshoots on the side and bought it all on her own. But I made her go to roys to buy it cuz I wasn't asking them for a pink reel lol.
