Hey guys,
I decided to give the surf a try after some promising reports. I really wanted to go to PINS but I hit Fish Pass Jetties instead about 9am or so. I was using some fish bites and dead shrimp and some cut mullet I netted by the jetties.
Caught 2 nice reds the first hour or so on the fish bites/shrimp combo. 1 went 25 inches and the other 24 inches. And caught tons of whiteys....between 10in to 16in.
I practiced CPR on all the fish.
And the good thing was I didn't catch any hardheads...not one...woohoo..!!
Not much bait running. Not much weeds at all until about 1pm...then it started rolling in. I left about 3.
It was a beautiful sunny cool day....
On a side note....when I first came in...there was a big Ford truck stuck and these 2 guys were trying to get it out. Their truck was not 4wd. I offered to help and I tried to pull it out with my 4wd Tacoma but I just couldn't. I didn't want to push it and then get myself stuck as well. There was a bulldozer cleaning the weeds on the beach so I drove one of the guys over there to see if they could help but the bulldozer guy said the city doesn't allow them to do that anymore. They ended up calling a tow truck. I felt bad for them.

TFTR Nice slot reds! A day not catching hard heads is always great. Poor guys though, I got stuck in my vehicle one time and tow trucks wanted me to dish out more than 600 dollars. Thank goodness a couple passed by me and was awesome enough to pull me out. I try to pass on the favor when I can. |

Teacher Fiancee and I hit N Packery at about 3 on Saturday. The water was fine, little to no weed, great live shrimp, lemon rigs at the end ......... all we caught was a beer buzz. I don't think my lemon went all the way under a single time in 2 1/2 hours.

| Good catch, and good fishing spot. Time was that I fished that area a lot, have not been there for several years, looks like I need to head back. |
