I have never used this place because everyone says the grass is horrible. Went buy today and it didn't look bad. I noticed the sign with the price "$3 and that drop box was out back". So you jus leave $3 in a box and use the ramp ?

Yep, it's a "good ole boys" system when the owner isn't there. But hes usually sitting in a chair by the front door when he's there. _________________ Come out & gig some flounder with Straight to The Point Guide Service!! http://floundergiggin.com/ for more info

it's very shallow. you basically have to get up on plane directly behind the ramp unless you have an extremely shallow drafting boat. I've tried to launch there a couple times and almost always set the heat alarm off idling around in the ramp area

I use that ramp exclusively because it is so close to home and at low tide you will stir up some silt. He did have some of the muck remove recently , i have not had any problems launching my 22 ft .Stoner and never had an over heat occur. But i have heard other say that they have over heated also ?

is it a good spot to launch a yak? Caught a lot of trout in that area but usually paddled in from the north near the gas heads

The owners name is Roger. Very nice man. The place is being revamped. The area has been dredged recently but there are some very shallow bars surrounding the place. $3 launch fee is waved if you buy "anything". A very BLUFF kind of place.

I'll 2nd that Roger is a great guy. Very helpful and informative. It's good to see what he has done to that place. I haven't launched my RFL there since last year before all the dredging. Didn't have any problems then and shouldn't have any now.

Wasn't bad at all. Didn't have any trouble getting out in the Laguna. Lucky for me the winds were calm pretty easy getting a 23'er back in the trailer by myself.
