Unless you are driving BigFoot, don't attempt to go over there. Me, being the idiot that I am sometimes, didn't notice the three big, lifted, trucks stuck butt crack deep in the sand (in addition to a few more). By the time I did notice them I was already at a point of no return and ended up getting stuck. Luckily a friend of one of those guys managed to work his way around the deep sand and was able to pull me and his friend out. (We were incredibly lucky that him and his friend didn't just leave us there, awesome ppl) The other truck was SO DEEP in the sand it almost looked like the earth was giving birth to a truck, no honestly.. Poor guy, they tried but the attempt ended up busting both tow straps.
Me and my buddy ended up surf fishing south Bob Hall but found nothing. Surf was torn up,water was murky, no bait (obviously) and full of seaweed. We did come across a guy who had a big ugly in the bed of his truck, I'm guessing 40 inches give or take and used dead shrimp. Tomorrow looks like it should be better. Good luck dudes! |

| I'm guessing it was 40, I've never personally seen a drum large enough to be considered a "big ugly", but my best guess would be that. I just know it was BIG and pretty damn UGLY! |

Glad you got out. I went down there on Monday and the sand was really soft had to put it in 4 lo to get through it. Saw several trucks get stuck mainly 2 wheel drives that should have given it a better look before they tried to get out there. _________________ It's not the destination, the journey is everything. |

Iv seen plenty in the 50s now those are big and ugly. It's common to see 38 to 40 and they are still big uglys at that size. And yes that's against the law to keep over 30 _________________ Thanks Bubba |

| Oh, sorry guys. I know that, I just thought ppl were beginning to believe I was a 12 yr old boy that was spreading false reports lol! My apologies. Yea someone said the news crew had gotten there but I didn't see anyone whip out a tripod or anything. I felt so dumb, rolling in there with a two wheel drive Xterra while right in front of me lays a truck 45 degrees in the air. I'm honestly curious how that one guy is going to/got out! |

| I wasn't doubting your report I was mentioning it because of the illegality |

| My fault, I didn't really think so until a user said, "Yea Zia that's was he said" lol so it kinda threw me off. Misunderstanding on my part. |

Yep. This is the dicey time of the year for parking at packery. Thanks for the report. You helped make my decision. I feel bad for the guy who kept the big ugly. His wife will probably divorce him after she tries chewing and digesting his prized catch _________________ ...if my boss ever finds this forum I'll be unemployed... |

| They are fun to catch and release. I caught one out of kayak BTB while fishing for Bull Reds out pass the third bar. But Big Ugly is a good description of them. |
