Nevertheless I fish all over and enjoy the oso bay and have had good luck there. You just need to know where to fish. We know where to hit them up and if u have no luck within an hour there then move locations. There are a lot of honey holes around there.

You did not really say which bridge.

Dont waste your time fishing the OSO especially around the Bridge at the outflow into the bay.
To many people wasting their time there already.

Wading and fishing the edges of the deep channel that runs from that bridge back into the OSO is even worse.

What ever you do ... do not take a Kayak back there.

Its not terrible. I used to live off sandpiper that was directly across from the school. We used to fish live mullet off the porch, 25in specs, 30' red and a few flounder. Yes there are lots of hard head but the live bait works good for the good fish.

I've had quite a few good days of fishing out in the Oso. There are definitely fish out there but its definitely NOT a honey hole either. As for the guys on the peninsula..... I have lived next to the OSO my entire life and have never seen anyone with a bent rod there. If you have a kayak or a float tube (Its possible but I don't recommend wading); go night fishing under the bridge, and you can definitely catch fish along the light line.

Not sure why anyone would say not to fish the Oso. I've never posted video, but here it goes... One of these links should work. This is a short video I shot last year. One of three schools of redfish I saw that morning. Video quality isn't the best, but you get the point.

definitely an above average go to spot in the lower temps... anyone who says its not a good spot has either 1. never fished it 2. doesn't want more pressure there or 3. doesn't like cleaning fish

near the bridge/channel off of ocean dr.

as a matter of fact the 32" trout on my wall was caught there as well... Wink

the trout from there taste just like the trout ive eaten from the upper and lower LM...
