Yea, no problem, those pic's should cheer anyone up. I'm real fortunate
I got to experience a lot of those times before it was taken over by the population and special interest groups.

Mike, I recognize Coach Chatter Allen wearing madras shorts in one of the pics. He was real big in track & field in CC when I was a King HS "track star" in the late '60s. I believe they named a big regional track & field meet that was held at Buc stadium after him - the annual Chatter Allen Relays. Wasn't he a member of the Ananias (Liars) Fishing Club? Ah, youth!

Yea Bruce, those are pictures of Chatter Allen and his family and friends.
If I'm not mistaken his son came on the board and posted those videos
a while back. I love them because like you they remind me of my youth and represent real fishermen of the Laguna Madre and Baffin Bay. Such a great time it was.
Funny there aren't any power poles or GPS units on any of the boats.

That homemade skiff is crazy. I love it. I'm surprized no one had a Vanoy in the pics. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

There were a number of homemade boats of the times running the Laguna, my favorite were the scooters, made for nothing more than transportation to the fishing area and back. They had no steering wheels, the motors were bolted on ridged and the steering was done by moving from side to side in the boat. The motors were mounted as high as possible but still deep enough to pump water to cool the head. They would run skinnnnnnnnnnny.
