That was wild! Let's people know how rough Baffin can get. I know since all my friends with go fast boats put me in the front and never seem to slow down until we get just past Twin Palms and I start flying _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

I think this was offshore 20 miles from Baffin. Said there was 11 foot waves! Sounds like the sailor did all of the right things from a safety standpoint (except that he went offshore alone in 11 ft seas!) |

Well now that makes sense. I got an email that said it was Baffin
Caller Times story said in Baffin Bay then it said, closest shoreline was 20 miles away. Guess we both screwed up. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

Not saying it was true in this guy's case, but my sister is a member of the Lake Travis Yacht Club. Blow boaters everywhere. It's funny as hell when you tell them you are a power boater, it's like admitting to being a leper.
They can tell you all about races and can rattle off the most useless facts about sailboats at the drop of a hat, but they can barely navigate out of the marina parking lot.
This guy was a mix of stupid and smart. Had an EPIRB, had a dhingy and survival gear, but went out alone and in horrible weather.
I wonder what his destination was? for that matter, I wonder if the dhingy is in Mexico yet? |

Ah yes!! Reminds me of my old Navy days on the destroyer. 11 ft seas? - no bother - just bob like a cork, take green water over the bridge, and keep plowing forward. Riding out a typhoon - just make sure to strap yourself into your rack and remember how to walk on the bulkheads on the 40 degree rolls!! _________________ Now that food has replaced my sex life I can't even get into my own pants!!!!!!!!
