|
|
On the news last night, it showed CC police signs of "No Trespassing" posted along the southwest bank of Packery Channel by the bridge. It said trespassers will be prosecuted, and police patrols, some in unmarked cars, will be patrolling the area to make arrests. A different TV channel said that surveillance cameras were/will be put in there.
A similar thing may soon happen on the Packery Channel area west of the Packery Park. The area between the Best Western Hotel and the JFK bridge and behind the best Western, and between the Best Western and the Packery Park. All that area is also private land [something I hadn't known until recently].
Just a heads up for bank fishermen..... |

I have fished there one time nice area to fish if you don't have a boat. I feel for those that fished it on a regular basis. Now those same idiots are going some where else to thrash another fishing spot, it never ends. Sorry for you all's lost. _________________ Hook'em and givem Dragggg !!!!!!!!!!!!! |

The area she is talking about is private. The owners have the same issues, trash and the one all land owners face and fear the most, liability. That idiot that didn't have a trash can has Wayne Wrights number on speed dial. It won't take 6 months to post it.

As far as I can tell, the north side of the channel is still open.
Also, there is a sign at the Packary Channel Park parking lot saying that the park will be closed from dusk till dawn. Not sure how they intend to close the park. There are two ways in, one at PCP entrance , and one through the neighborhood. I don't think hey can lock anyone out,
Wonder how often the CCPD will patrol the park?
Wilson cut will be next if idiots keep throwing trash. I pick up trash. Feels great.
I personally never fished the area closed from the bank, but kayak fish that area often. Cannot blame the land owner on this one. _________________ I wouldn't take Tuesday off if you will show me a fish that bites on weekends! |

I guess the litter will just keep moving to new locations that become available when others get closed down. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

I thought the area at Wilson's cut by the gate was already closed off? Hear the kite boarders blocked off the road and got the company/landowner upset. I haven't kayaked or fished that spot in almost a year. _________________ Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. |

yep. I've known since I was about 4 to put trash in trash cans.
if the city can have a big seat belt ticket campaign, seems like they could have a task force assigned to fining people that litter.
We'd probably pay off all the debt in the first year. |

The land in front of the entrance has a sale pending per this real estate agency.

I am so p****d! I've caught some fish there including my only snook! I've met some great people and made some surprising friends there. I wish the City had the foresight to make that whole area a Park, a treasure for the people of Corpus and their visitors who bring so much revenue to the area each year.
Yes, I'm a visitor there, but I've always taken out my trash and picked up after so many others. This is sickening! _________________ Character is doing the right thing because it is the right thing to do, not because someone else is making you do it.

I was out that way the other day taking a few pictures. Neither the boat launch road or the longer access road (just south of launch) that goes to the kayak launch were closed off/posted/etc.
There are a number of roads off of 361 north of Wilson's Cut that are now marked with large, hard to miss, no trespassing signs. |
