get a variable zoom from x3 up to x9 or x12. Nikon Prostaff and some of those redfields are nice for the money. Leupold is the best, but you have to pay a lot more! _________________ JJ |

| I have a Nikon p-223 3X9 on mine. It is made for AR's and so far I am impressed. I paid under $200 for it. |

| I run a vortex 1-6 razor HD. The real question is what is general use? A 3-9 leupold would suffice if you mean hunting and plinking off a bench. |

| I use the vx2(3x9x40) on my 5.56, and vx3(4x10x40) on my 6.8. On the 6.5 grendal sits a Sightmark 8x25x50. I use the Nikon offset mounts to get proper eye relief on the 1" scopes, but can't find them in 30mm |

Don't overlook the Mueller scopes, they make a damn good scope but since the brand name hasn't been around a million years nobody talks about them. Especially applicable with the mil dot reticles and they're fairly low cost. Everything I've read about them is positive. _________________ JJ |

Depends on the setup. Scope choice starts with rifle purpose.
My hunting AR has a Nikon Monarch 2.5-10x40. If you are looking for a 'tactical' AR scope look at the low power or reflex/red dot style scopes. _________________ Why is it that these days sales people seem to be as honest as I am knowledgeable? |

Don't get a cheap one, seen a lot of people sorry they did and end up scrapping it. Trijicon Reflex is a nice one. _________________ JJ |

| Go with the set up that the guys whose life depends on it use: An Aimpoint CompM4s. Add an Aimpoint 3X Mag, and you have a set up for both defense and hunting. |

Hard to beat aimpoint products, even harder to pay for. _________________ Salad, Salad, everywhere and not a bite to eat. |
