My fellow fishermen and lovers of the sport, unexpected employment changes and lay-offs have forced me to sell my prize possession saltwater rods and reels. In one yard sale, I let go of, 2 Okuma 12" rods with Okuma AZ-90 large spool reels, and 4 Okuma 10' rods with the same reels. Maybe Okuma doesn't mean much to some, but to me they were my pride and joy, and they provided years of monster fish from the piers, from the surf, and from the many great spots on the south Texas gulf coast. My wife begged me not to sell them, but, the bills had to be paid. If anyone has an old salt water rod and reel that can be restored and used again, please let me know. I'm willing to barter handyman and remodeling services for a decent outfit or outfits to get back into the surf/pier action with. I also have a wide variety of salt water lures that I would e willing to trade. le me know!!!

Very sorry to hear about that. These are tough times, there is no economic recovery! Sure hope you find another soon so you can get back to fishing again! Wink

Thanks for your words of encouragement! I do have 2 ultra light spinning outfits with 6lb. test line. I think I can bring in a bull red with it if I set the drag just right. Yeah, right!!! GOOD NEWS! A new awaits me on Jan 2nd! The fun part will be buying "new" surf rods and reels. I want to thank those of you who contacted me regarding make a deal or bartering for some of your equipment. Everyone have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

I have a pretty much brand new condition Penn 209 that you can have until you get a chance to upgrade.
