Bury it for 3-5 months in a protected area from other animals. Dig it up go to sally's beauty salon and buy 20% peroxide. Submerge it in a bucket filled with the peroxide overnight or for a couple nights. Rinse and mount!

you can get by with 1 quart of peroxide by continuously pouring the peroxide over the skull. The peroxide is a thick viscosity so it tends to stick well to the skull. I have done 3 mounts this way and they are perfect.

Try to skin as much as you can off the head. Boil the head for several hours until you can scrape the meat and hide of the skull. You can scoop the eyes and brains out pretty easily once its all boiled down. Let it dry then put some peroxide on it to make it whiter if you want to...

I have done the boil method too. It is tedious and doest come out as well as burying it. I even pressure cleaned one of mine after boiling it! I would recommend skinning it before burying it. It takes longer if you leave the skin on. I was taught this method by a local CC taxidermist. If you want pics I can text them to you! All the above methods work but burying is by far the most efficient.

I'll post some pics of my bull elk and all the white tails that are euro'd in the game room. Everyone of them were skinned, boiled, power washed then bleached. _________________ If you dont believe in god, you havent been to Texas. |
