I got this answer from TAMU:

Carlos,

This happens every year at about the same time. We are feeling the effects of the gravitational pull of the sun and moon combined, which results in higher high tides.

Water was mostly over the dock at BIB ramp this morning. A coworker said he had never see it over that dock before.

Damn! I've been following the forcast on my Windfinder app and it's predicting the front not to pass through padre until after 3 pm. Looks like it's going to pass through sooner. Oh well still gonna head down. I've fished with a buddy that lives down there and have fished with cold fronts passing through and caught some of the best stringers on miserable days. Also I just love being down there.

Ill be out tomorrow and off the water about noon before the front. One like this youll see coming ahead of time hehe.

The water is crazy high in my canal. I have to tie the kayaks down or they will float away...literally just float off the dock.

Sounds like a standard text book answer. High tides this time of year are normal, but not this high for this long.

The tides have been high and what I call a "high average" for months now. Ever since we had some tropical storm activity in the gulf. They seem to have never dropped out. I remember a couple of summers ago we went through months of extremely low tides during these same summer months and we were slamming limits in the holes. I can't seem to see a pattern.

My theory is that they scatter when the tide is high, therefore making them difficult to find. They are no longer confined to "holes." I'm sure there are differing opinions out there.
