I run the 19' Stealth. To give you an idea of capability, I fish from Shamrock Island/Cove area down to King Ranch and Baffin area.

Depending on what type of fishing you plan to do will dictate the type of boat to should get.

Some boats are strictly for the shallow flats but you have to get there through some deeper/rougher water sometimes which may mean a rough ride in transit.

Some boats are strictly for the deeper water (3-feet or so) and you cannot fish the flats. Smoother ride in transit but cannot get too shallow.

Some boats are constructed for both of these conditions. I believe that the hull type of the Shoalwater Stealth is good for both. Other manufacturers have similar hull profiles as well. I have been probably where I should not have been (regarding shallow water) and was nervous but didn't have a problem.

I have the 19' Stealth and love the hull. In fact, my next boat will be a few feet larger but with the same hull design.

I take my boat to Portland Marine for service. As already posted, talk with Carol or Manual at Portland Marine about their Shoalwater lineup. They also have a few used Shoalwater's for sale.

PM me with any questions.

Thanks. I saw in TSF magazine the stealth starting at $23k? But that was a few months back and the few dealers I have called don't seem to recollect the ad. It was a Texas Marine or something like that. After Saturday the 19' cat has made some advances on my list. For one my wife liked it a bit more and she said get them racing seats on it. I didn't like the bench seat since its so much higher than the counsel. and getting a raised counsel would push me over my costs.
Thanks and Portland marine will be on the call list today. I am not going to be in a big hurry on the purchase. This boat will cost more than my purchase price on my vehicles since I buy 3 year old models on that. But being broke down on side of road and in the water is a bit different.

FYI ,we had our majek Texas skiff stolen about a year and a half ago. We loved this boat, it ran skinny, got up in 15" of water, and never left us stranded.
It had a 70 2 stroke Yamaha fron Ronnie's . Great service and people there. We started looking at replacements and we decided our 60 plus year old backs wanted a smoother ride without losing shallow water capability. We started looking at cat hull boats. We have run scooters aluminum v hulls , majeks, Haineys and Dargels (all good products) but when we started testing the ride we noticed one significant difference in the cat hulls...
All the tunnels were pretty much the same depth,Haynes, shoalwater, Dargel, and they were much shallower than our ultimate choice, the ;Flats Cat. The main difference we noticed and the main reason we wanted a cat hull, was smoothness of ride in chop. We generally fish the graveyard as we like to drift over Clear, shallow, productive waters and it's a long ride from Bird island basin, so any improvement in ride quality was a huge plus. We bought the 19' with the evinrude 130 and love it, it gets up and runs shallower than any boat I've been in(including the RFl) and cost on it was comparable to the boats of similar size and power. B&S marine in the bluff fixed us up and customized of ride to our satisfaction my advice would check it out before you buy anything else.
Better Luck Tomorrow,
Karankawa

Looks like I over read your post. Thanks
I would like to fish the area you mentioned as one of my furthest points. So that does help me put things into perspective. I have seen B&S advertising the Flats Cat.

Again
Thanks

Thanks for all the input. I pulled the trigger today and should be ready for pick up on Monday. Went with 130 E-tec on 19' Shoal Water Cat
Numerous positive reviews.
I truly miss being in the water. Have not been the same since I sold my boat a month ago. Even the wife is glad that I will be back to normal. Cool
