After reading Billy's report I was wondering if the beach was a good idea. The morning was so nice decided to give it a try anyway.
Glad that I did. Hit the sand at first sun up. Stood on the beach three out and had plenty of finger mullet.
The beach was loaded with grass. Surprise was that the water was clear and very little grass. Wade gut was alive with bait but did not catch one fish in it. Almost as soon as I got the long rod in the holder it went off. From 7:40 till 8:40 the skippies made things happen. Then the action slowed for about an hour. About 9:30 the Smacks showed up. Managed to land four. That was it had several take downs, and no hook ups, but that's all I brought in. Still, very enjoyable.

I was a little further south than you and had same resultd plus several blues in the 22"-25" range.

Gulftrout, think that I found one of your old golf iron. Must of had one too many bad shots. It was a grip and shaft only.
