Went to the ulm mid morning and clean water was hard to find. Trying to add to my supply for b'day fishfry at my house on Oct. 26 at 6PM. Water was the yellow/brown color of, dare I say, brown tide. Finally found some nice water in north nighthawk. First cast a 25" red. Next dozen or so casts resulted in 3 trout 18" plus. Went around for another drift and only 1 more trout. Went south as far as the big sand bar and water got progressively worse.
Tried ICW and pure oil area but didn't fish. 6-8" visibility. Went back to where I caught them earlier and water was already getting stained there. Went through a lot of soft plastics with the perch, skippies and gar.
Came back and checked my freezer and I am all set on fish. Will be serving trout, red and shark. IMS volunteered his cooking expertise.
Also have plenty vacuum sealed for my NM trip. |

I was about to post the same thing. Looked like the color changed significantly overnight. _________________

The water on the flats just north of Whitecap and east of the ICW spoil islands has gotten noticeably murkier in the last 24 hours. |

| South Nighthawk Bay is so murky today that you can't see the bottom just two feet under your boat. A week ago it was crystal clear. |
