Quick beach report for the PINSPAL'ers. Hit the beach yesterday morning, driving was OK, but got rough and soft starting about the 15 mm. There was one big bump, that would be sure to be a front end destroyer of trucks/jeeps/etc. The seaweed was THICK and more was showing up from the park entrance all the way down to the 25 mm where we met our friends, Joshua Brawley and Megan Wendling. I made one cast with my heavy surf rod, and in about 30 seconds, landed the largest, biggest, toughest ball of seaweed I have ever seen. Seriously, this was a new personal record. It was very frustrating to see mullet and bait in the water and not be able to fish. About 8 AM, we saw some Jacks come crashing through, and Josh and I hit it with some lures...Josh hooked up with a very nice Jack (pictures posted yesterday). I managed a few skip jacks, but nothing else. The seaweed was rolling in in huge mats by about 11 AM, and the rip current moving north was very strong, so we all decided to pack it up and call it a day.

We may hit Bob Hall Pier tonight to see if we can tangle with anything...besides all the tourists in town for Labor Day Weekend....speaking of which...just a little FYI...NORTH BOUND TRAFFIC HAS THE RIGHT OF WAY ON PINS...FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY...MOVE OVER, OR AT LEAST SHARE THE ROAD!!!!!!!!

Pics can also be seen at http://www.facebook.com/pinspals

TFTR! Nice jack. Guess ill just hold out a little longer on going out to the surf, due to the crowds and weed. Goodluck at BHP.

I am getting really frustrated with the weed on PINS. I have a strong desire to hit the sand but not with the weed situation. Hope it clears soon.

Thanks for the report. Nice pics. Weed has not been a problem North of Packery.
