Anyone catching kings or smacks around the jetties? Last two trips out there I got shut down, but I know they'll show up thick at some point.

Out there this evening; water in channel semi clean, southside funky off color water with tons of new weed. Lots of birds diving though nobody was catching...

My 2 rock hopping buddies who probably fish the north jetty more than anyone else have said its been slow. They fish for trout but said its been slow...ever since the brown water. The clarity is there on the north jetty with some seaweed but the numbers are down. Only boxing 6-7 a trip when they were getting limits before and normally always fill the box if not limits. Smacks were there early In the morning last weekend.

Sad Haven't had a line wet since March. Work at the deer factory keeps me a long way from the water.

Hasn't fished since March, yet reports he has not been catching any kings at the PA jetties.

That right there is funny. He did speak the truth.

I burst out laughing and had to respond.....

My understanding is that they have not been there since last Saturday. The water was looking a little better there this afternoon on the way in, but very little action from the few fishermen I talked to that were walking in, as the big rig was headed out. Smile

You have to understand... Bigrock can catch fish just by thinking about it at the deer factory. He doesn't need to wet a line.

Last year he caught a nice sailfish while sitting beside a campfire in west Texas. Very Happy

Yeah some guys have all the luck. Working in a deer factory while I have to paddle for miles in clear waters infested with big sharks and tasty fish... But tomorrow I get to prep for Monday's four hour lecture. Not as cool as making deer, but pretty cool in its own right.

Not lately. This Kayak Wars business is eating up all my time. The other day I wanted to watch a little TV, you know, a show on what goes on in a deer factory, but I had to use that time to rebuild a reel and make more leaders for the next trip. Embarassed

Sometimes I think I should retire from the high- stakes world of competitive fishing. It's eating up all my free time and the Don, AcousticTennis, is hard core with this fishing business. I thought the Mackerel Mafia team name was just a name, but He scares me. Very Happy
