Thats pretty funny. Ok here's the reel deel. The Backyard is an area that I play in on the the weekends and sometimes afterwork. As far as I know I gave this area the name "The Backyard" over time other backyards have popped up but I lay claim on the real and only Backyard. The area extends from the JFK to the PureOil channel. Or it can be split into two halves, JFK to Pita Channel or on to PureOil, from the ICW or ( The Ditch ) to the shores of Flour Bluff and so on. The Backyard is a place where we played as kids and now as adults. Only now I have a boat instead of a rusty old swing set. Laguna Vista is down near Port Isabel, that was a joke ha ha. Very Happy I have a nice view of the Backyard however fishinglady has the best view.

Ah, my mistake, I thought you meant Laguna Shores road - isn't that the semi-paved road that runs along the shore - I guess parallel to Waldron road - but pretty much on the water.

Yes I live just off that semi paved road that is located in RAT TERRITORY. Now back to the furlough subject........

11 Fridays without pay........I don't care how much overtime we worked. Seeing that the troops got what they needed. It takes overtime during wartime to supply the frontlines with parts and such. It's a slap in the face from the White House on down. Poop flows down river. I don't see any congress folks being furloughed. "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you, can do for your country. I love and served my country, I will still serve my country. IMS

Look, if you don't want to be furloughed, you should have got that cushy, high up position with the Internal Revenue Service. Then, when you don't do your job, you simply tell your boss that you are not leaving and will continue to receive your pay. Twisted Evil Mad Evil or Very Mad

or get one of those jobs where you can get "suspended with pay".

No clue what I'll be doing with all this time. Going from 60hr weeks to 32 hr weeks has been a little hard to adjust to.

The irony of "furlough weekends": I now have eleven 3-day weekends in a row, which presents a great opportunity to get some good fishing in. But the 25% effective pay cut means I really shouldn't spend money on gas from SA to Corpus... Mad

May have to take yaks out to Calaveras or Braunig to get my fishing fix instead of hitting the salt this summer.

Yea....it's gonna be tough for us....but dang.....a 3 day weekend. I just can't complain much...since we can't control what we don't have control over. We will just have to remember this next election time.
And in the mean time....I'll enjoy PINS a little bit more. Now that I can control.... Cool
