3-5's is when I normally bag it however one time we found big stuff blown out in the first gut with a deep wade gut that wasn't plagued with a big current yet and good trout.

I've also seen the weather call for big waves like that, and arrive to a flat sea! Gotta check for yourself and determine if it's for you or not! Fish will still hang around the jetties! Good luck!

I would imagine that's pretty rough for topwaters, but never say never. I prefer a slow sinking mirrolure, like the 52MCHG. The bait will work and if you catch a skipjack, you might want to try some fresh cutbait for reds or sharks. I just caught a half-dozen skipjacks and six keeper specks this morning in the surf. The largest trout went 28"! Shocked I caught all mine this morning on soft plastics with an incoming tide and sandy green water. Wink Smile The current was running hard to the north in the wade gut south of Bob Hall Pier.
