Been a while since I have had a good day of fishing. Haven't had a chance to fish since I left Kingsville and it seemed like everytime I hit up the island, I didn't catch anything worth reporting.
So yakattack and I hit the water this morning around 6:15 or so and the wind was blowing mildly. It took us a while to find some fish, but when we did it was on!!!
The fish were bitting in waves. All of our rods would go off and then it would die, and it was like that the majority of the time. All in all I ended up with 4 drum the biggest going 20 and one huge sheepshead going a solid 23. Yakattack ended up limiting out in drum and with one fat trout. All these fish Were very healthy and fat. I even caught the fattest hard head I have seen in a very long time
On the way back the wind was furiously strong as well as the current. So bad I had to walk my yak to the truck because I wasn't getting anywhere paddling . It took us an hour and a half to get back compared to the half hour that it should have. All in all it was a good day, got some fish and a work out

Dang it that sheepshead is big. Might have been a body of water record. I think there is a bracket for that on upcoming star tourney? _________________ Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience. |

I checked the tpwd and there isn't a sheepshead record that I could find for Baffin Bay. How would I go about getting it checked out? _________________ Drive it like you stole it! |

AT- We thought about it, but the wind was so bad that it would have made the paddle back even worse. Next time if the wind is not so strong we might give it a shot. _________________ Drive it like you stole it! |
