My F150 has slots for lumber in the sides of the bed. I just insert a piece of 2x10 and put the motor on it just like you would a transom. The skeg then just rests on the bed. I padlock the transom screws to keep it from growing legs.
Honestly, it's not the best way... Sure, it keeps it from moving around or leaking and it's safe if I step away from the truck for a few seconds, but if I ever hit anything that sucker will probably come in thru the back window. |

| I'm bringing this post back to life! I am about to get in inflatable and had my eye on the saturn 12'and a 15hp tohatsu... Now I posted on rib.net asking for advice and everyone over there seems like I'm on some type of a deathwish going offshore a couple miles on a zodiac? Why are some people so afraid of inflatables? I saw that he had it for sale, it's nice but I have my heart set on a Tohatsu 15 and Saturn 12... I tried explaining to the guys we dont have oceans go from calm to 16 ft seas in a matter of minutes like they do. My previous experience is offshore fishing on jet ski's the last 5 years running out of Matagorda. I have the post on rib.net linked below... I think I'm coming off as very hardheaded to those guys but I just wanted help on selecting a rib and nothing more instead I got pages of don't do it because I'm on a deathwish... I only plan on going out in calm weather and the other time using it as transportation to wading areas...
Thanks for the help ceejkay- btw I posted your youtube video as well to show them how the gulf is here... they also thought yall were going to die because you weren't wearing the safety lanyard...
