Took Dale out fishing. Catching was not nearly what it was a few days ago. First few spots resulted in a 16" trout 3 skippies and about 15 undersized trout.

Went to Tropic Isles area and same thing. Went to move and no juice to the motor. Plenty of power in the battery. Acted like it was stuck in gear. Drifted and trolled all the way home from there. Sure glad I had full batteries for my trolling motor. Called John Reynolds when I got home and he came by and said it was solenoid.

Got to a point where the winds would take us into the marina and began drifting. Just finished telling Dale a fish story about catching 8 20"+ trout in this area some time back. Shortly after the story he hooks into a drag burner. Brings in a 29.5" yellow mouth. Continued our drift and a 21" red.

Limped home and cleaned the few, albeit, nice fish we had. The big mama had several sand eels in its gut.

We began feeding the pelicans what I didn't feed to my dog.

A successful dive.

Rabbit came by bearing gifts. Thanks Rabbit. I will think of you and our friendship every time I use them.

Am going to try the surf in the AM.

Good to hear somebody catching fish, and a beauty, at that. Congratulations...with you, I'm certain the surf will bless you as we'll.

Aside from the solenoid, that is a great story all around. Great trout, great friends, great report. I mean just look at the goofy smiles on the three of you guys in that last pic.

Great Catch! I have been having a little trouble with the starter on one of my motors. I think I will head back that way next week. I'm already tired of 'Old Nueces", well not completely. Very Happy
