Ok guys...I am planning on doing some surf fishing this Saturday for the first time somewhere between Bob Hall Pier and the entrance to PINS. I will probably start the drive from the pier and work my way down till I see either lots of birds or by chance...some bait in the waves.
I started to make my list but I wanted to run it thru here just in case I forget something....here it goes:
1. Long Rods & gear- for fishing
2. Rod holders - for the rods
3. Waders - just in case I can't reach the farther guts from the shore
4. Dead shrimp & fishbites - to catch some good bait
5. Throwing net - just in case there is some smaller bait
6. Lawn chair - for sitting during some dry spells
7. Food & snacks - to make it thru the whole day
8. Shovel & bucket - in case I get stuck in the sand
9. Camera - to take pics of the fish I catch & of the "Naked People" running around
10. Guns (concealed) - just in case the "ghostly screaming" natives decide to visit me
11. Harpoon - to defend myself from the dinosaur sharks that might still roaming the gulf
12. And finally cold BEER - for my CCfishing.com buddies that stop by....or shoot...just for the heck of it....it's just not for breakfast anymore...
Am I missing something?
I am sure I will find out once I am out there.....dang it...
Better to have it and not need it....then to need it and not have it...

| Fillet knife and plastic bags for all the fish you are going to catch. Good luck. |

I like to bring a small bucket or large bottle that I fill up with salt water at the end of the trip to wash my feet/shoes as I get into my truck. Keeps the interior cleaner and then the bottle can be thrown into the passenger side until I get home.
Also, I like to bring a towel to throw on my seat before I sit down to help keep it dry. |

Sand spikes and sting ray guards.
Some bring old throw rugs to help get out of the sand when mired.
I've only fished graded beaches near here, not down Nat'l seashore. |

A ghost shrimp pump is sometimes useful to have when nothing else works. If you're going to be there several days, you might want some suntan lotion. I don't know what a "harpon" is. Did you mean harpoon?
Always bring exta leaders, hooks and weights. You might need insect repellant because of all of the rains we've had recently. _________________ HighTide

an easy up or unbrella for the sun/rain that you may or may not encounter. watch out for that high tide. i was at packery yesterday and the water was almost to the dunes. _________________ Chris Gonzales |

A small air pump, a can of fix-a-flat, tire plug patches, jumper cables, definitely a first aid kit, some meat tenderizer to help soothe a jelly fish sting. I never leave home without a good sun block, and lots of towels to dry up and protect your seats. For a day long trip or camp out I like to take a 5 gallon water jug filled with just tap water, comes in really handy when you want to wash your hands before eating or grilling up some burgers.. _________________ I like fishies |

| This post should become a "sticky" for easy accessibility on top of the forum. Excellent recommendations! |

"This FAQ thread has everything and then some. "
I looked and I didn't see anything about a PINS PRO!
