My dad and I made way down the beach on Sat from San Antonio. We left around 0530. We hit the sand on the low tide and headed south looking for some good water. On the way, we noted quite a bit of weed and lots of jellyfish. Some spots worse than others. We made it to the PM jetties noted some campers and decided to track a bit north. We found some nice water and made it home for a couple nights. Plenty of finger mullet and we found the weed manageable when fishing close to shore. During the high tide in the afternoon, the weed/debris was bad and we mostly relaxed, listen to the radio, ate, and enjoyed a few beers. This turned into a good plan as all fish were caught on the low tide, early morning till about 1200. We ended up releasing over twice as many reds as we took home. Some double hook-ups kept us busy. For a while we thought the cooler would be looking empty given the bull reds, so we put some shrimp out for pomps. There was one area that produced with some steady action on Sun and a couple Mon morning. The pomps were good size. It was a great trip and weather was awesome. Water color also improved as the days passed, but some areas were pretty bad with the weed which we saw on the way in on Mon. The beach looked really nice on the north end and there were a few folks enjoying the day. It is still manageable to be out in the water in shorts! Hope you enjoy the pictures and Happy Thanksgiving to you, family, and friends. Cheers!

1st red on the trip

Dad's 1st red

Another red...A few more to go.

Next on the CPR list

This one had a few more spots.

Switch gears and shoot some pomps.

Another one for dad. One of the bigger pomps.

Pelicans to our right.

Pelicans to our left.

One bull on Mon morning. I lost one before this one, must have been a hoss. Cudos to dad for working patiently to get this in. He walked about 100 yds down the beach to land it. Smile dad.

The bounty from the sea with a one of a kind fishing partner. Check out how the water is shaping up. Seems it's always better when it's time to go. Forgot to mention listening to the Cowboy's game on the radio. That was entertaining. Cheers from Clarance Roussett and Richard Roussett from San Antonio, TX. Cool
