And the funny part is the electoral vote wasn't even CLOSE! I mean, who saw that coming (besides everybody)? It was a blowout. I mean, I'm a liberal, and even I thought it was going to at least be closer. But wow - people REALLY didn't want that Mitt Romney guy to be president.
Well anyway. 4 more years! _________________ ...if my boss ever finds this forum I'll be unemployed... |

I am not surprised. at all...
Those who want the rest of us to take care of them always outnumber those who take care of themselves.
It is curious however, what kind of person really wants to be taken care of?
Things I have noticed over the past two years of college, maybe 70% of the folks in my classes are there on someone else's money, the same 70% have no intention of using the learned content to go out in the REAL WORLD and earn a living with it.
Was Romney the right choice, we'll never know, is Obama the right choice, I think some of us know and some of us think we know.
At this point, we should give him everything he wants (there is a phrase that covers this method) and see where we are at the end of his term. I think we will have a much clearer choice in 2016, by then some of you will have to grow up, get a job, pay some bills, live without something you need (or just want). Being young and full of idealism and knowing your right about everything goes away with seasoning.
Just for those of you who think this election was some sort of a mandate, I think not!
I think I may be cursed, I have lived long enough (many Presidents) to know what is going to happen.
Good Luck to all! I hope this journey turns out just the way you planned. |

Or they are getting deep into student loan debt - $50,000 plus to get a degree in American Studies, Philosophy or some other major where the jobs are few and far between. I think the next big banking issue like the mortgage crisis will be from these folks with shiny degrees for which there is no job market defaulting on student loans. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

What you said about about the young, dumb, idealist crowd will "Come home to roost" as Obama's pastor loves to crow. Give them 4 more years of no job or working part time at some dead end job so their employer doesn't have to sign on to Obamacare , living at home, and gas too high for them go OUT and GET high as many did all through college on either their parents $$$$$ or our tax $$$$$ (college loan), let alone enough spare funds to buy something on which to do so..................... well.........................
Prohibition was a STUPID mistake brought on by an ultra conservative swing in this country. That saw the meteoric rise of the mob and government corruption (Chicago, New York, etc.). The country finally woke up and got rid of prohibition, but everything that came with it is still here! The same will eventually happen with this pinko swing to the left but sadly and as above, all of the baggage that came with it will still be the Albatross around all of our necks! _________________ Dave

Well, I know how the Obama haters feel. I felt the same way when Dubya was re-elected in 2004, but he sure turned around the country and made things right for us in his lame-duck term, didn't he?
I sincerely hope and expect that Obama will be more successful. That's a low bar to measure up to for sure. |

Liberalism is a deadly cancer, attacking liberty and promoting genocide at every turn. Liberalism is full of hate and fear. A godless worldview with no moral compass. We ought to love our misguided neighbors though. We need mental health professionals to chime in and figure out how to help them. Maybe like a drug rehab or something. They could read the constitution every day. Maybe educate them about what socialism really is and the affect it's having on the minds of our people. Reiterate the need to honor the blood shed for this country instead of trampling it with executive orders, the destruction of our constitution, and coercion. _________________ Fish hard. Man, this sounds a lot like Romney's token "47 percent" talk all over again.
I guess he underestimated, according to the election it was more like 51%. Yes, you are all correct. 51% of our country voted political persuasion that shall not be mentioned because we are young, dumb, lazy, idealistic, and are looking for handouts. Has nothing to do with women's rights, marriage rights, making billionaires pay their equal share of taxes, making college more affordable, etc etc etc.
So when does that switch happen from being young and dumb, to being old and seasoned and wise. When should I expect to turn from a lazy hand-out seeking mooch to a crotchety, closed minded, greedy tax-evading miser?
Does that latter stereotype accurately paint the picture of everybody who voted for Romney? No? Hmm...I guess maybe we shouldn't paint 51% or 49% of our country with one of two broad brushes. _________________ ...if my boss ever finds this forum I'll be unemployed... |
