Hit the beach this morning after a long absence. Stopped at around the 3 after spotting some skipjacks/mullet. After scoring some bait decided to just stay and save the gas. Cut skipjack yielded Jacks and mullet were terrorized by blues. Talked to a guy who said he got redfish, but I never could get through the packs of blues. Water clarity was 8/10 and weed was coming in, but not enough to foul the lines.

Set free to fight another day.

Found this and after a little research learned that it's a "Sea Heart."

I only went down a few miles, but it was smooth sailing. Good luck out there tomorrow!

I've been catching them on live mullet, first gut. Sometimes you can see them in the breakers. Big silver spoon.

It's usually just a matter of driving the beach until you find them feeding on top. At that point you can pretty much throw any lure like a topdog or like zia said a spoon and they'll eat it. If you know they are in the area but not feeding on top just take a head section of a large whiting/skipjack/mullet and set it on bottom. I'm sure others more qualified will chime in, but that's how I do it.
