Just got this email and was asked to post...

Quote:
At 3 p.m. yesterday, 14 Oct., 2012 we discovered this piece of gill net containing a shark and other species 2 miles north of the Port Mansfield jetties. The panga gas tank was a mile north and another buoy was out in the surf coming in very slowly farther north. My GUESS is it also contained webbing. This was found while myself and others were doing a bird survey/riding fence for the c-3 group; Friends of Padre. Capt. Billy L. Sandifer

I ran across about a 7.5' Hammerhead washed up at the 40 or so on Saturday. I wonder if they were related.

No some guy had it in the back of his truck last Saturday when we were camping at the 30MM according to a few guys that stopped by our camp.

Yeah somebody picked it up before we headed back North, he probly grabbed it to cut the jaws out. Shark had some damage to the tail, no hook puncture marks around the mouth that we could see.
