One beer I have NEVER had. Is it that good? By no means do I drink a lot. But I have been trying every single import available (locally). Just to see whats best. It takes me over a week to finish a 6 pack so its a slow going process. lol. So far Ive tried Mexico, Canda, And Asia has to offer. Believe it or not in my opinion, Canadian has been the best so far. _________________ I like fishies |

I can't think of any good Canadian beers we get this far down.
Instead of trying imports, why not try American microbrews? There are some really nice offerings by Samuel Adams, Abita, New Belgium, Lagunitas, Magic Hat, etc.
Or you could "Go Texan!"
Saint Arnolds (Houston)
Shiner (Shiner)
Real Ale (Blanco)
Ranger Creek (San Antonio)
Rahr & Sons (Ft. Worth)
Jester Kings (Austin) _________________ "Money will buy you a fine dog, but only love can make him wag his tail." - Kinky Friedman

Because I just want to Taste what the world has to offer one beer at a time. I'm not looking for a favorite beer or a "go to". Just want to see what they ALL taste like. I know there are many great ones out there from microbrews. Those will be the next to try. One canadian I thought was pretty good was Mooshead Lager, Best Mexican beer I liked was Pacifico. I tried a "mexican style" beer out of Colorado from Del Norte Brewing, that was by far the worst beer I had ever had. Once again these are my opinions. I'm sure yours along with everyone elses here will differ. Thanks for some names on the Microbrews. _________________ I like fishies |

I agree with the moosehead...very good. If you ever find yourself around victoria stop by HEB and get some pearl (not light)....thats just too far for me to drive for a brew. _________________ "When times are tough,

Those green bottle beers like Moosehead give me a headache. I do like Shiner Bock, Blue Moon, and some of the IPA's and microbrews from the Pac Northwest. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

Funny how its only the green bottles that give you headaches. They all give me headaches when 12 or more are applied...lol
Sprite and ONLY the soda sprite will trigger a migraine headache. All other clear sodas are ok for me. _________________ I like fishies |

Pearl is made in Ft Worth at the big Miller plant... not the same....
same w/ Lone Star.... but the Ft Worth Lone Star is way better than the East Texas stufff.
the San Antonio beers were distinct and they had loyal followings...
bought a 12 of yellow Pearl a month ago... not the same.
Pearl Light had a dang good wet t-shirt promo, tho

Judging by the average age of the Pearl Light target market that is a mighty scary thought. _________________ "Money will buy you a fine dog, but only love can make him wag his tail." - Kinky Friedman

I thought Pearl was bought out sometime in the 80's? It's just a label now.
Used to buy it all the time at the Maverick market on Ennis Joslin. (70's) |
