Had a leak in the bathroom ceiling. Turns out it was from a random bullet that entered my roof. Larger than a 22. Crying or Very sad

i would like to here from a police officer on the matter, instead of random opinion..
(i believe we have a forum member who is a police officer)

i have gone through a large amount of legal data on discharging firearms in the state of Texas, more than can be posted here...i would say go and research it yourself, i cant give you definitive answer, there are simply too many variables to consider.. a judge will have the last say anyway you could be charged with a class c misdemeanor all the way to class a felony for murder
personally i would not discharge a weapon in CC unless in self defense or at a shooting range
you have to have multiple acres to be able to shoot legally(the amount of acres depends on the weapon fired, shotgun, air gun, center fire, and rim fire you cant cross property lines with your bullets, can not shoot at vehicles or persons, you cant brandish a weapon, you cant cross a street or side walk with your bullet of you have broken the law
i can not find any law saying its legal to shoot a firearm in their back yard in a Texas city with a population of over 100,000, either at a backstop, stump or in the air, unless you own a private shooting range
please correct any of this if wrong, i would like to see actual laws though not opinions

almost every city has a law or city ord that prohibits the discharge of a firearm within the city limits....some even go so far as to throw in archery as well

SB, why you so worried all the time, man?

i try to live my life without fear or regret
i get more nervous paddling through rough surf than any situation a person could put me in, i am not clinging to this life and am ready to depart and explore the next one at any time, believe what you want, i don't try and change anyone's opinions, but i have seen other planes of existence first hand, and know life does not end after death for everyone..
this doesn't mean i want to leave my family or put myself in a bad situations, however i have lived my life prepared for anything, and will continue to do so

multiple people shooting in the air at new years does scare me though, i have a 4year old, and have seen what a bullet that traveled multiple miles can do first hand

As I've taught my nieces and nephews, there are knuckleheads everywhere. I don't live my life in fear, nor do I just go through it on cruise control...if something doesn't seem 'right'...my first thought is to get the heck out of dodge.

I'm not understanding this and just don't get how people these days don't freaking think about their actions..... The guy in the green z71. I was fishing down at pins close to the jetty about a year and a half ago and this random guy comes haulin supple bum through our lines. I was like your cool guy. About 20 min later I hear my freaking door open and this dip poo poo thinks he's being quiet and gunna try to steal I guess my radio.......? I don't like to carry a pistol ne more because of all the different answers you get from the cops when u ask about the (castle law). Luckily I had my little .380 with me I snuck up through the passenger side and stuck it through the window lol long story short the guy took off like hell!! I mean come on guy we were litterly sitting about 25 yards away looking at the truck some people aren't very freaking smart!!! Next time they aren't going to be as lucky
