I think it is more of an illusion than a photoshop job. Look how far his arms are extended. Also, gauge approx. distance of his hands versus his body. Might be a 31" trout.
I once took a picture of a 15" trout being held by my 8 year old daughter. The fish looked like it was 24" due to the fish being a distance from her body.
Just my 2 cents. _________________

The same pic can be found on wadefishing.com. The date on the photo is April and angler is Mr. Unknown.
A photo that I posted here of a fish caught last winter made the Texas Fish and Game mag last month. They wanted to contact the angler and find out where the fish was caught and how big it was. I heard rumors floating around that the same fish was over 35" and caught anywhere from Sabine south to Mansfield....Possible State Record! The boga read 10lb. and the rod ruler aprox. 32". It was released right before my eyes. _________________ Grind |

Held out on straight arms will make any fish look big. Using the formula from a previous poster, if his hand is 4" wide then according to my ruler, the fish is in the 27" to 28" range.
The "HUGE" trout in my avatar is a staggering 30.25" and an awsome 9.5 lbs! Mine can be verified for length only because it hangs on my wall (sorry slammer). |

Nice fish. Simple camera tricks though as he has the 'Team Oso - hold your fish out point blank in front of the camera' pose Just joking haha.
But yes, likely unintentional but simple camera tricks on a solid Trout... I'd say that Trout is no where near 37"... closer to 30 if that.
NOW that's not to say there wasn't a 37" Trout caught recently, I just can't see this fish being it. _________________ -Oz |

With the luck I've had lately I'd be lucky to land a 3.7" trout! _________________ I like fishies |

Hold it out and don't have any part of the hands showing, just like he did, stick hands in gills flaring them out and resting belly On other hand. I do it, but yes it makes fish look huge. |

No idea, but look at the way he is holding the fish, straight out to the camera. That is definitely the way to make a smaller fish look larger to the camera. _________________ Ray |

That's a nice fish no matter what size it is. I guarantee you that there are old bank fisherman in the back of Baffin that throw 35+ inch trout in their ice chests and don't even know what the internet is. |
