| I haven't ever put in over there. I have a 14 ft. aluminum boat, very light and 5 hp motor I run on it. Looks like to me it would be a good spot for me, pretty protected from the winds. I have a Nissan Frontier 2wd, small truck. Is there going to be any problem with putting in there ? I can almost carry the boat and put it in if needed but girlfriend recently broker her leg so she's not much help at the moment carrying things so i can't do that. Thanks for any input. |

The main road in to Wilsons Cut can be very soft at times. Try to avoid it with 2 wheel drive. _________________ E Pluribus Unum |

| You'll do fine launching there but take ALL valuables out of your truck and lock it up. Tight lines. |

Launch is not the problem; it is the road getting ot the launch that can get very soft. Your Nissan cold probably handle it by itself, but pulling a trailer through that soft stuff to get to the lauch can be problematic.
As suggested, take oil field road around to place kayakers launch. Your boat is small enough to lauch there; just please be mindful of where you park to allow oilfield trucks in and out and others to lauch.
This road is just, and I mean JUST, before the road that can get soft if youare coming frm Corpus.
As suggested, take all valuables out of vehicle, and maybe, just maybe, you will not have a problem. |

| Thanks everybody for the input. I'll just swing by and have a look at it. I knew about all of the vandalism but I just don't see what can be done about that but put/lock everything up and if something happens hope I catch them in the act. I recently moved to Port A (kind of) and don't want to cross the ferry twice every time to fish, don't really want to cross the ship channel in that little boat, and don't want to have to drive all the way to the Packery channel or Clem's every time to put in. This looks like the only option to me. Thanks again. |

| The road in that you want to take is right beside the electic sub-station. It's a good road (albeit with potholes, but those of us who live in Corpus Christi hardly notice them anymore). Won't have any problems pullng your boat trailer in there with 2WD. Good luck. |

I've dropped there before. Using a 2 wheel drive Chevy Equinox. No problems. I just sped up a bit to get through the soft stuff.
I would not use anything other than 4 wheel drive if it rained at all within a couple of days. Its gets real muddy there.
I completely emptied my vehicle so anyone looking inside won't see anything that might motivate them to break in. |

| Thanks for the input everybody. Is the road I should take to the kayak launch right before the soft road or like a mile before the soft road ? I see both. I don't see an electric sub-station on the road just before the soft main road but looks like there is about a mile down the road so it was confusing to me. I'm sure I'll figure it out but I thought this could save some time and don't want to be trespassing on someone's land by taking the wrong road. Thanks again. |

Punch these into google maps or google earth or your car's GPS. That is the firm road you want to take to the launch. You will see where to put in when you get there, as there are always cars parked to launch kayaks.

Like others said - park in a way that doesn't block the road or the launch spot for others. Its not a public area but the owners are kind and let us use it. Its a privilege that might not be there forever. If you can, bring a trash bag and pick up some of the junk around around the launch site. Others abuse the spot and its good to do all we can to keep from losing the privilege. |
