Well, it's a tough life to HAVE to go to the beach on a beautiful day. My friend Dave and I hit the beach around 8:30 and found great conditions. The water was very clear, surf was low, wind wasn't blowing too hard. We starting fishing around the 16 and stop around the 25. The birds were really working the 2nd gut in the 20s. We caught 5 nice reds, 23", 26", 27.5", 29", and 31".
My 31" red
Dave's 29" red
The morning started out slow, but, the bite was on after lunch. |

| They were all caught on fresh shrimp on the back side of the first gut. When we initially started fishing, weed was no problem Around 2:00 PM the weed hit us hard and we headed home. There were big mats going north in the first and second gut. Long rods couldn't be used. All we caught was lots of weed! |
