Since the brown tide or what ever had the water really off color I decided to try shamrock. It was a beautiful day to kayak and the water was fairly clear. Put in at williams cut and started fishing, tried every place I could think of and not a single hit. I tried in the shallows and in the channels and all I got for my efforts was a lot of exercise. On the way back I counted 9 other kayaks out there, most looked to be anchored. _________________ Fishing and Kayaking its a rough life but somebody has to do it. |

A shamrock regular here, it always seems that the redfish abandon the flats when the water is up like it is, at least this time of year. I had a tough weekend as well, and I covered more ground in a shallowsport. Last weekend, shamrock was flush with redfish (but don't tell anyone!) Let the water recede a bit, it will get better.
Now, this brown tide thing in the laguna is a bit depressing. I am like Captain Rowsey, a lure chunker. Bad timing, as the Laguna was just starting to show a little life. Now this. Something had to have triggered it. Does anyone have other ideas, or has anyone learned anything new? |

| All I know is that, like I reported last week, is that it started south right after the rains and has been working its way north with the SE winds. The water is not silted, but an orange/brown algae color. |

The brown tide sucks for fishing, but I'm not sure what you mean by the Laguna was just starting to show a little life. The laguna was on fire all winter (if you can call it a winter). _________________ "Ya'll must eat a lot of fish" |
