This morning waded west shore of the backyard, thanks to a tip from THE IMS! Before I get into the fishing, let me tell you how great of a guy Stan is. I just moved in next door to Stan in his rental property and while we were unloading the UHaul he over heard my dad asking about lunch. In the MIDDLE of the afternoon he thawed out some fish and fried it up for us without telling us and brought it over to us! Amazing! So back to the fishing. Went to the bait bucket and got a pint of shrimp at 6 AM! Fished live shrimp under a Cajun thunder popping cork all morning. Caught about 25 trout with only 5 keepers. Scary moment when I hooked a sting ray in waist deep water though. Put the trout on ice and continued unpacking the house. Now for the fireworks! Got back in the water and caught a nice 17 inch trout on my second cast about 3:30, waded about 1/2 mile and went back to my first spot. And about 5:00 did they ever turn on. Caught a nice 20 incher, and one every cast for the next 45 minutes. I hooked a beast that immediately stripped about 20 yards of drag, he jumped 3 times before throwing the hook. This was easily the biggest spec I've ever hooked! HAD to be at least 25+! Going back out tomm afternoon.
