Went to Red Dot Pier Thursday night from 6pm till 10pm caught at least 30 trout on speck rigs Very Happy , only 4 were keepers with two at 18" and two at 16". Twice I was hooked up double with dink trout always of coarse 1/2 to 1/4 inch to small to keep Wink .
This was the best night I had fishing all year long, I tossed lures and reeled in fish till my back was soar. Woke up this morning to to a cup of coffee and two Advil but it was soooo worth it. This weekend will be packed but I plan on going back after the weekend for more chances. Im hopeing to see a few drum show up this time!! See ya there Cool !

What I like ding when the dinks are thick and am using speck or double rigs is when you get a fished hooked do not bring it in right away. Let it swing and thrash. Often times a bigger one will come by and take the second rig. I once caught a 20" and 21" trout at the same time that way. Now that was a trip!

I have used the 2 lure trick on bass, crappie, perch, and about 50% of the time it will result in a double hook up.

I also like to start out using 2 different lures trying to zero in on what color they are hitting, and then put on the 2 of the same lures and work on getting double hook ups.

I am not a betting man, but i could have taken a lot of people's money that did not belive me when I told them I was going to catch 2 bass on the same cast.

I works on just about any fish that will hit a plastic.

Try it, it works great!

Sometimes I would use the same 2 colors but switch which one was the top and which was the bottom to see if there was a difference. Often it was not the color but the position.

I've also had situations where I was catching a fish on just about every cast with a single bait and when I put on a tandem rig hardly anything. Switched back to a single rig an bam, bam, bam. I guess sink rate and action change which was not to the liking of the fish.

Has red-dot always charged people money to park a vehicle there, even if they are not going on the pier to fish? I got a little ticked last night when I parked my truck and was going to hop on my buddys boat that he pulled up next to the pier. Some guy comes out of the store and stops me saying I have to pay $2 to park. I told him I was just catching a boat and would be on the pier less than 30 seconds. He didnt seem to give a steamy excrement. I know its only $2, but WTF man. Ive been buying bait there for years. I dont see the kayak guys getting charged or the people fishing on the shore under the bridge. Guess I will get my bait at another shop next time out. Hell, the parking lot was more than 1/2 empty!
