Went SBH before sunrise this AM. Set up my surf rods and tried to cast up some mullet. NONE. Got 1 pony mullet to cut up for bait. Bunch of nibbles but no takers. /finally some finger mullet started showing up. Got a few and re-baited my rods. About 10 min. later one of my rods start to double over. Pull the rod out of the holder and know it's a good fish. Bring it in and it is a 44.5" bull.
After taking pix and releasing the fish I put on another mullet. Before I get it back to the holder it almost gets jerked out of my grasp. Bring in a 38" red. Shortly after that a 24"er. Then a 20" smack and then a 39" red. The mullet stopped appearing in the surf and the bite stopped as well. Left the beach at 11AM. Played pop the man-o-war on the way home. BTW watch out for hardheads SBH. A number of them on the beach. Could be bad on tires!

NICE! I need to start following you around amigo. I hit Packery this morning and got zilch, nada, zip. I did have a couple of smack take a swipe on topwaters, but that's it. I only saw one red caught. I hit Southpack before the sun was up. Guess I wasn't in the right spot. =) Awesome red!
