Wanted to get drummy and i figured the wind would add a sketchy but exciting bite on the water ....

on the paddle over i was getting hit with wave after wave after wave it felt like a BTB day...

finally anchored up and threw out some lines...today i was trying out my new baby got it for $40 with a rod holds about 300 yards of 20lb test...

the first 7 fish were on the new rod and reel =) i was very excited

a dead mullet came floating by so i picked it up cut some chunks and threw out a piece

about 5 minutes later my ugly stick gets SLAMMED SLAMMED SLAMMED it had full drag on and was just screaching i backed it off a bit and it took off like a freight train i tried to slow it down burned the hell out of my thumb....

after a back in forth for about 30 minutes the LONGEST battle by far with a baffin beast all my other rods were on with drum by the way i thought i finally had it tired and put on some drag so i could bring him up to the kayak left like pulling a log through the mud....then it used one last run and *Snap*....

so after i collected myself and convinced myself the tears were really water from the waves i reeled in my other lines and this double made me feel a bit better...

and this one just made me laugh =)

the reds are moving around baffin...if im not mistaken a new state record was taken from baffin a couple weeks ago..60" bull red...

saw a couple of these little guys

lightning showed up fast! so i hauled it back to the truck with 25mph winds and waves to match it was a typical night but hey if you wanna catch drum then you gatta risk it to get the biscuit

ended the night with 38 keeper Drum 1 redfish and 25 for kayak wars

Now for the title of the post...when i got there this guy was telling me i was crazy for going out for just "some" drum and was convinced he would outfish me....when i paddled back

Sweet!!! Doesn't look like false advertisement to me...my wife got me good...she filleted a nice trout the first time I took her out...LOL...only time will tell!

lol i know the feeling my wife catches a 60 pound wahoo when i hook a 20#king. and my daughters touch to a rod is magic she charms them on to the hook Cool
