Not sure exactly of what you're talking about but we saw a very interesting vessel when we were returning to shore from the CC Fishing offshore trip. My understanding is that it was a maintenance vessel that essentially acted as a sea-based dry-dock. The ship pulls in and then is hoisted up and out of the water.
I'm trying to find some pictures to post here.

I was out at the Triple Rig 6 Miles out from the Port A jetties on friday and saturday and could see but never went that direction. I what you were seeing is the giant structure straight off the end of the jetties it is a hell of alot bigger then the repair vessal shown in the picture. It looks to me like one of those transfer stations for the tankers that run to deep to come into port in this area. My 2 cents. _________________ Be polite to everyone but be ready to kill them in a moments notice. |
