Then there's always the USPS!!!!! I heard on the news this morning that there's not enough work for all of them, soooooooo............................................ instead of getting laid off like the rest of us (or having less work/less income like us self employed), they are paid in full to do nothing but go to a room and sit on their collective butts all day long!!!!!!! Evil or Very Mad

Ahh the civil servant! Rolling Eyes When's the last time that you got "service" at the post office, the DMV or any other government agency?

Sorry to get a little off the warden thing, but they too are "civil servants".

Right!!!

If you want an experience like one posted here, fish Labonte Park at the saltwater barrier dam for white bass only to be told none of your fish are white bass; rather, they are striped bass or some other thing.

After all that, break out the official Parks and Wildlife book that has limitations, size, etc., and look at pictures with warden verifying your catch is white bass only to be told it is not so.

Being respectful saved a lot of headache.

Several years ago we were camped and fishing from the south bank of the Mansfield channel and were checked by two GW's. After checking our coolers they told us they had to ticket us because we had filleted our catch before reaching "final destination". We had to show them in the guidebook that a barrier island is a "final destination". Confused

I was a police officer for 21 years, trust me when I tell you this, there are a lot of people that have difficulties when it comes to learning the law, always be polite, patient and cooperative when it comes to dealing with rooksters, makes for a smoother day for everyone involved.

Read the post before that brother........................ if you don't get the connection then I can't explain it, and won't even try to! Cool

Then again, my last sentence is all the connection that anyone should need:
"Sorry to get a little off the warden thing, but they too are "civil servants".

I feel your pain and have great respect for most LEO's and/or WLO's. You said " there are a lot of people that have difficulties when it comes to learning the law", and I totally agree. In the world of the internet and search engines this is pure laziness for most, IMHO. It never ceases to amaze me how often people ask questions about rules and regulations on forums instead of simply using that same computer and going to the source!!! Rolling Eyes

Funny you shoud post this today Dave. I own a Mail, parcel and copy shop and this morning I had a new game warden come in my Shop here in San Antonio. His wife has been a customer for several years but he just graduated from game warden school and has been assigned to Eagle Pass. He had several small pocket sized typed cards he wanted me to laminate for him. They were important dates, game and fish limits etc he wanted to always carry around so he will not make the kind of mistakes mentioned here. He is a really good guy and I'm sure will do his best to enforce the law properly and with respect to the sportsman.
