| (posted on Oz's site also) If you could book a trip out of Port A, Rockport, Corpus, or anywhere else local for a grand offshore fishing trip, where, who, and for what? I'm talking the widest range of fish, best chance for large catch, sharks are not necessarily part of the equation, and a grand time for 2-3 couples. Day long, overnight, but some time in July, maybe August. All other input welcome. We'll probably be camping on the beach at PINS for a few nights, a hotel in Corpus/Rockport the balance of the week when we're not offshore. |

| The 8 hour or the 10 hour? July/August time frame - what is our likely target/catch to be? Do you take your own gear or do you use his? What is the typical tip rate for capt/crew on his trips? Donna is bound and determined to hit the beach in Texas this summer, so count on us being down there. Might be interested in some fishin' buds joining us offshore, too. Looking to book Billy the same week for a day or two, whenever 'that' week is. |

If you want to try one of the party boats give the guys at Dolphin Docks a try. I've gone out several times now and have always come back with at least 60lbs of fish. Last trip out I caught a 63# black grouper, several kings and lost a 300# mako that took a ribbonfish on my kingfish leader. Spectacular performance!! To see a fish that large jumping 10-12 ft in the air was worth twice the cost of the trip. _________________ You can get much farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.

| I've had good times on the Dolphin Docks boat, but next month, we're going on the Off Shore Adventures boat out of Aransas Pass. Neighbor has been on both DD and OSA, and he thinks OSA is better boat, better crew. We'll give it a try and report what we think. Probably can't go wrong with either though. Be sure to bring your sea sickness pills! |

Next time I go I am going with these guys http://www.portaransasadventures.com/index.htm
They will let you take an Ice chest (up to 48qt) with your own beverages. It is a party boat though! I will be down beach way around the time frame you are looking at so if our schedules cross we will have to have us a get 2 gether on the beach! It has been tooo long since I seen ya buddy! and to long since I been to the beach (last August) cause of personal problems! Anyway we will have to stay intouch as the time grows near....

No party boats this trip. Looking for that smaller, more intimate setting. Trey - your number one is booked the Saturday we want to go. 2nd choice is? (bigger boats not out of the question - Unka Sam not hitting as hard as we thought, so a bit extra available.)
Craig - we'll be on da beach 17 thru 21 July, hotel room or relatives on Goose Island for the next 5-6 days after that. However.com, PM or e-mail me and we'll talk. Where do you think you will be camping? Same crowd of 'Big Fellas'? |
