Fished Mustang surf Aug 16-18 with free lined piggies and croaker. Tuesday the surf was terrible. Large waves, muddy water, and strong current. It settled down later in the morning but we only caught 5 keepers. Released them all except one 20 incher that I gave away. Did get to meet some people from one of these message boards that I have been wanting to meet. Hi Sapo and Ray!

Wednesday we kept 11 trout from 20 to 23 inches. The conditions were much improved but the water was still off color. Danny also caught a 27 inch red that was released.

Thursday we kept 7 trout from 18 to 25 inches including a 23 inch fatty.

Had to leave a day early. Wish I could have fished Friday.

People, Rick is a diehard surf wader....I wish I had guts to hang out chest deep with a stringer and bait... Maybe because of the BHP video... Rick, it was cool to meet you.. I was totally honored Sir!!! Thanks for the BBQ Sauce recipe also.... Holler at me next time y'all come down and I might try some deep water wading with you.... Very Happy
