your better off peeing in the wind capt. all sponsors of those tournaments give out rules about burning but it still happens anyway.i remember scott from the redfish series warning people even prefishing but it hasnt had much effect.i should say most tournament guys dont burn up the place cause theres only a few towers but i see that changing in the future. but theres always that few who do ruin it for everyone else.

There is a multitude of tower boats out there. I've noticed 2 similar black boats to those mentioned zig-zagging the flats to simply pop a school of reds.

I do not own a tower boat, but have fished with a buddy that does. The vantage point for sightcasting is awesome, and not all the guys that own these type of boats operate them in such a manner as previously reported.

Its not only the tourney guys either, had a few of these that are using a cabin in the land cut regularly pull some jackass moves in the 9 mile hole a few times.. If the morons had just an ounce of common sense it would be an improvement..

Yes they all operate them in this manner, it's the only way they can find fish. In their process of finding fish they ruin it for many other fisherman. The Laguna is only so wide. I go to my spot early I get there first. Why do they have to come and burn around me? They know I'm there, they see me.

I think the way to get some attention to this matter is to start calling Operation Gamethief and report that a boat operator is harassing wildlife. 1-800-792-GAME

if every time a burn boat hits the backyard they get reported maybe it will get some traction somewhere. I hate to seem like a tattle-tail, but these folks need to know they can't buy themselves out of the situation of learning how to fish, and they sure as heck can't do it at the price of ruining everyone else's fishing.

We need to get video of the boats burning and turn them in. Without undeniable proof that their fishermen are breaking the rules, tournaments will continue to turn a blind eye to this behavior.

C'mon infamous black tower boat driver! We all know you are reading this. What say you in defense of these allegations?

Harassing fish and harassing fishermen are two different things.

I have said this before. I find it pretty harassing when we put a hook through their mouth, reel em around for a while til they can barely move, and then either carve em up or throw em back in the water so we can do it to more of their fish buddies. I find it harassing when we slam a spiked gig through their heads in the middle of the night. I find it harassing when we shoot a spear through their brain and drag them up on the rocks of the jetty. Harassing fish is a stupid term. Lets leave that poop at the door. I harass 100's of mullet everyday when i paddle through them.

If they are bothering you, then call it what it is. They ruin YOUR fishing day, or atleast your spot/drift. Which is a 100% legit gripe. It pisses me off too. So do jet skiers. So do kayakers that cut off my drift. So do most powerboaters anywhere near me quite frankly Laughing . But don't spin this off like its the fish that are being mistreated. Its the public who want to share the resource that are the ones that are mistreated by burners. If they break tournament rules and the tournaments don't care, or can't control it, then talk to the people who operate the tournaments. I gotta tell ya though...lotsa money comes into your city from those tournaments. It may fall on deaf ears. But I agree that you should open your mouth, but make sure your reason is the right one.
