We hit Packery again today, and it was not as pretty as yesterday. I figured it would only be getting better, but "go figure" it was not.
A new thing for me was the sighting of an Aligator Gar about 4 feet long. He was crusing right along the edge of the rocks and up shallow. I watched him for a minute and proceeded onward.
Much to my surprise, he was out further in just a few mintues. I think he was following me around.
I did not know they could survive in that salinity level. Is this possible, or perhaps just something unusual?
Bite not as good today but managed a few. |

| This sounds typical coming from a cajun, but gar are one of my favorite fish to eat. Light tasting, not too fishy and kind of tough. Not too bad though. You just have to have a hatchet and a bat to clean it. Haha. |
